Teens4PR members Sofia and Michael, of Irvington, NY, joined forces with their Puerto Rican-born and raised mother Liana, and the youth group at South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry, NY to raise $6000 for Puerto Rico relief. The group hosted a sold out dinner and talent show on February 10th. The proceeds will go to purchasing beds for dozens of Puerto Rican families who have had to sleep on damaged and moldy mattresses since Hurricane Maria hit the island back in September 2017. Liana was able to witness the plight of many such families while she volunteered with the Red Cross in the fall. She is now back in Puerto Rico, where she will begin delivering mattresses thanks to all the generous event attendees and donors. Our kudos and admiration to these thoughtful and talented kids and their parents.
