Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico Put Teens4PR's $5k Donation to Good Use

Teens4PR donated $5k to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico. Of those funds, $2k helped put together, print and distribute the most recent edition of La Voz de Llorens - a student-run newspaper created as a Keystone effort by young Puerto Ricans who participate in BGCPR’s center at the Llorens Torres Housing Complex in San Juan. Besides the value of having our youth engage in such projects, this edition included a lot of valuable post-hurricane information for the Llorens community.
The other $3k went to purchase an ice maker for the BGCPR’s Loíza Center. The ice maker will not only serve the hundreds of children who make use of their facilities on a daily basis. It will also be an important source of ice and cold water for the community if another disaster were to occur. It will be installed in a new kitchen at the center, which will be powered by the sun. Teens4PR co-founders Salma, Yamila, Santiago, Ana Beatriz and Sofía recently visit the Loíza center, to witness first hand the marvelous work they do and see the progress in setting up the newest facilities.
